Music Director / Artistic Director
Lea Baker
Lea is a vocal pedagogue, founder and Musical Director of Endeavour Harmony Chorus. Growing up in a musical family where harmony singing was normal, Lea developed a wonderful ear and a passion for a cappella harmony singing. She joined a local Sydney chorus in 1988 and was hooked. To fulfil her dream of leading a chorus of her own, in 1996 Lea formed the Endeavour Harmony Chorus. In 2021 Lea graduated from NIDA with a Master Of Fine Arts in Voice
She is a Certified Master Director and a skilled vocal coach, teaching at her private voice studio in Peakhurst Heights, NSW (info at www.raiseyourvoice.net.au).
Lea is a much sought-after coach for ensembles, quartets and individual singers throughout Australia.
One of her areas of interest is vocal health and longevity for professionals with a high vocal load such as teacher and call centre workers. She developed a course on vocal health aimed for teachers, which is being run through Teacher Training Australia (TTA).
Under Lea’s leadership, Endeavour Harmony Chorus has grown from strength to strength, thrilling audiences around the world with dynamic and energetic harmony singing. The chorus currently holds the record for the highest chorus score achieved in the National Contest and the highest score and placement for an Australian chorus at the International level. The chorus has competed on the International Stage five times, placing as high as 10th in the world.
Lea is a seasoned quartet singer (baritone mostly) and her quartets have placed in the top five at regional contests on five occasions. She is also the proud mum of her rescue greyhound 'Groot'.

Musical Director
Karen Ramirez
As a Musical Director of Endeavour Harmony Chorus, Karen has worked closely with Lea and the Music Teams for over 15 years, growing and developing the sound of the chorus. Growing up, Karen studied classical piano, completing AMEB 8th grade and 6th grade musicianship. She is an avid lover of all things musical, learning the violin and clarinet through high school, performing in school bands and choirs, and taking on solo roles in various Musicals. She started teaching piano at the age of 14 years and voice in adulthood. Karen is a Certified Director, completing her DCP in 2012. With her musical background, her passion and willingness to learn and share her knowledge, she thoroughly enjoys helping others succeed in their vocal development. Karen is also Musical Director of Aurora Australis Chorus.
Karen is the proud mum of 2 adult sons, has been married a very long time, enjoys travelling (hence works in the airline industry), loves to read and take her two pet dogs for walks every day!
